Professional Biography:

Bill began teaching professional nursing in 1997 at Cox College of Nursing in Springfield, Mo., and joined the nursing faculty at the University of Arkansas in 2001. He is certified as a medical-surgical nurse and family nurse practitioner (FNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He began practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)/Advance Practice Nurse (APN) in 1999. Since then, Bill has practiced in a variety of settings including urgent care, and geriatric clinic/nursing home care. His professional affiliations include:  American Nurses Association, Arkansas Nurses Association, the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), Southern Nursing Research Society (SNRS), and Sigma Theta Tau International/Pi Theta Chapter.

Academic Interests and Accomplishments:

Bill enjoys teaching Geriatric Nursing in the undergraduate program and a variety of courses in the graduate program. He is particularly interested in the study of geriatrics and geriatric-related dementias and regularly attends conferences related to these areas.
