The college's "Tobacco Free and Healthy project" has been funded by the Minority Initiative Sub-Recipient Grant Office at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The purpose of the grant the first couple of years is to develop tobacco use cessation messages for Hispanic and Marshallese populations in Washington and Benton counties in Northwest Arkansas. The first year's grant was for $31,000; a continuing grant proposal has been submitted to the program sponsor.
