Nursing Students Show Health Can Be Fun
UA students from the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing will hold their annual Health Fair at Jones Elementary School in Springdale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow (March 6). With the support of community businesses, nursing students plan to show the children that health can be fun while promoting healthy habits for a lifetime. Some nursing students will wield a giant-sized toothbrush to illustrate effective brushing. Others will perform as dancing fruits and vegetables to teach nutrition basics. For the past six years, senior nursing students have organized the spring Health Fair at local elementary schools to learn organizational and management skills while experiencing first-hand the role of nurse as teacher.
