As you develop content for your department or program webpage, it is important to be aware of and abide by copyright laws. When you post images, text, or files, make sure that you are doing so without violating these laws.

• As soon as an "original" work is created, it has automatic copyright protection.
• Images (and other content) posted on websites are covered by copyright laws even if they do not have a copyright statement.
• Do not post content that is questionable. Ask permission from the owner before posting.
• Give credit to the owner when using their content.
