B.S.E. in Elementary Education

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education is a four-year initial licensure program in partnership with NorthWest Arkansas Community College.

B.S.E. in Childhood/Middle Level Education

The Bachelor of Science in Education teacher-preparation degree is offered in two areas: childhood education and middle level education.

B.S.E. in Career and Technical Education
  • Business Education offers on-campus students the chance to become effective educators and communicators as they learn to teach the latest computer technologies and sharpen their education and interpersonal skills. Individualized programs are designed to advance communication, critical thinking, human resource development, pedagogy, problem-solving, as well as research, scholarship and technical skill.
  • Family and Consumer Sciences Education students use their critical and creative thinking skills to strengthen problem solving. The diverse curriculum offers studies that mirror real life, enabling students to develop both personal and professional skills.
  • Technology Education prepares one to teach technology, pre-engineering, or other technical subject matter at the high school, middle-level, or community college. Additionally, the program prepares one to enter mid-level technical/management careers in business and industry.
  • Competency-Based Teacher Development should be selected by incumbent (in service) trade and technical instructors who desire to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Education degree or become certified as a master instructor in the post-secondary vocational and secondary school systems. PBTE Concentration utilizes the Performance-Based Teacher Education modules and is field-based. The residency requirement for the PBTE Concentration specifies that at least six semester hours of course work must be completed on campus, with an additional six semester hours taken at a location in the state taught by U of A, Fayetteville, faculty.
B.S.E. in Communication Disorders

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Communication Disorders prepares students for graduate level studies in speech-language pathology and audiology or graduate level coursework in other educational and health related professions.

B.S.E. in Health Science

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Health Science prepares students for a variety of careers in health promotion and health education, including with hospitals and community agencies, as well as to enter graduate programs of study.

B.S.E. in Kinesiology
  • Concentration in Exercise Science - Exercise Physiology/Biomechanics prepares students to enter advanced degree programs leading to employment in university settings as teachers/researchers.
  • Concentration in Exercise Science - Pre-Professional prepares students to pursue professional opportunities in allied health science fields, medical school or physical therapy school.
  • Concentration in Exercise Science - Fitness Specialist allows graduates to work in hospitals or in fitness areas to write and implement exercise prescriptions for individuals including working as a personal trainer or strength and conditioning coach.
  • Concentration in Exercise Science - Pre-Athletic Training is for students interested in exercise science with a core of athletic training courses.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing prepares graduates for hospital, school and community settings where they manage acute and chronic patient care and promote health and wellness. Nursing professionals specialize in geriatrics, dialysis, oncology, emergency, hospice and many other areas of health care.

B.S.E. in Recreation

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Recreation prepares students to enter the recreational work force at an entry level position or pursue graduate studies in such areas as public and commercial recreation management, sports management and outdoor adventure leadership.

B.S.E. in Vocational Education
  • Concentration in Human Resource Development focuses on the "people" skills and effective strategies leaders use to facilitate change and improve workforce performance to benefit individuals, teams and organizations.
