ADMISSION AND TRANSFER TO THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AND HEALTH PROFESSIONS

All entering students (including first year students, international and transfer students) admitted to the University of Arkansas are eligible for admission to the College of Education and Health Professions. Students transferring from another college within the University must have a GPA of at least a 2.00. Contact the Admissions Office for application materials and procedures.
Students desiring to transfer into the College from another U of A academic college must complete a Change of Major/College form and submit it to the Boyer Center for Student Services in 336 Graduate Education Building. A grade point average of at least 2.00 is required to transfer into the College, however, Boyer Center advisors will still advise prospective students until they reach a cumulative GPA of 2.00.
Transfer of Credit
The policies controlling the granting of credit for course work taken at other institutions apply as follows in the College of Education and Health Professions:
Minimum Graduation Requirements for the B.S.E or B.S.N. Degree
A candidate for a degree from the College of Education and Health Professions must meet University requirements that specify at least 124 semester hours of work with a grade-point average of at least 2.00 on all work attempted at the University. Students exempting any course must still meet the 124-hour graduation requirement and should consult their advisor for specific program requirements. A student must comply with the prescriptions and restrictions listed below and under General Studies and must complete the requirements in one or more of the approved degree programs.
A student must also meet all other University requirements for graduation, including the University Core requirements. Please refer to the 2005-2006 Undergraduate Catalog http://catalogofstudies.uark.edu/ of Studies (page 39) for additional graduation requirements. Students are required to have a pre-graduation check at least one semester prior to term they wish to graduate.
General Studies – Undergraduate Programs
The following general studies requirements must be met by all students completing an undergraduate program in the College of Education and Health Professions in compliance with State Minimum Core (SMC). Some programs may require specific courses as part of the general studies requirements. Students should consult their academic adviser, the University Catalog http://catalogofstudies.uark.edu/, and the list of Undergraduate programs that can be found on this Web site for program-specific requirements.
