Educator-Preparation Programs Receive Renewed National Accreditation
The quality of educators has a tremendous impact on the achievement of students, which is why officials at the University of Arkansas believe it is essential that programs preparing professional educators be held to the highest standards possible.
The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education recently awarded the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas continuing accreditation for its professional education unit. Read more »
Parks Family's Generosity Earns Lifetime Achievement Award

Nurse Commissioned, to Serve at Fort Bliss
Maj. Gen. Gale S. Pollock (left) administers the military oath of office Dec. 12, 2007, to Lisa Marie Hammond, a December graduate of the University of Arkansas Eleanor Mann School of Nursing. Hammond was one of five officers commissioned at a ceremony at the School of Law. She is the first ROTC cadet to join the Army Nurse Corps. Hammond will be stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Pollock is the acting Army surgeon general and chief of the Nurse Corps.

2007 Colleague Available Online
The 2007 edition of the Colleague, the annual magazine of the College of Education and Health Professions, is available for viewing here (3.2 MB PDF). A print version can also be requested by e-mailing Heidi Stambuck, director of communications, at stambuck@uark.edu. This year's magazine features the training programs offered by the college that prepare preschool teachers and child-care providers. It also has articles about the college's honors program, study abroad, development news, and faculty, student and alumni accomplishments.
