This was a special meeting called by the personnel document's committee to learn the best way to get faculty input on the system that is being proposed for faculty evaluation.
After discussion of the system the Council was OK with the concept but wanted to make sure faculty had input early enough to make changes.
They are looking at a point system which should give a broader spread of points than the system now, faculty will have a better idea ahead of time what the outcome of their evaluations will be, scores will be averaged over a three year period which should buffer a year of bad scores.
It was decide that focus groups might work best. Members from the faculty council will create a power point presentation to be shown 4 times the week before spring break. Faculty can chose which time they will attend. After the presentation the council members will respond to questions and take suggestions.
Bill and Merry will work on the power point.
We are looking into getting snacks provided at these meetings.
