Online Research Paper Wizard Developed by University Libraries

Posted on 8/29/2008

The University Libraries have recently released an online "Research Paper Wizard" designed to help students through the research process.

The Wizard will break down the research process into manageable steps and suggest a target date for each one. Incorporating guides, advice and video tutorials from the libraries and from the Quality Writing Center, the Wizard allows students to specify the subject area of their paper as well as the due date. The Wizard then supplies suggested sources and strategies, including recommended databases for the assignment subject.

Topics covered include establishing background information, locating books and articles, collecting citations and quotations and writing and revising a typical research paper. Comments and suggestions are welcome, as the libraries work to improve and refine this new resource for students. Plans are already in the works to enhance the Wizard with custom features for theses and other more in-depth research projects. Visit the research wizard at http://libinfo.uark.edu/reference/Wizard.

We want to hear from you. Please e-mail comments and feedback to Heidi Stambuck at stambuck@uark.edu.
