Vinson Carter Wins Citation from International Association

Vinson Carter, a doctoral student at the University of Arkansas, has won the Donald Maley Spirit of Excellence Outstanding Graduate Student Citation awarded by the International Technology Education Association. Vinson Carter

Carter, who is also a visiting instructor in the College of Education and Health Professions, is working on a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. He teaches technology education.

Carter will receive the award in March at the association’s conference in Louisville, Ky., where he will also be a presenter on STEM and technology education. STEM refers to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. To compete for the award, he was required to submit a design activity or lesson/unit plan to teach some aspect of technology education.

The citation recognizes excellence in graduate level scholarship and leadership potential. It is named for the founder of the Foundation for Technology Education, the supporting foundation of the International Technology Education Association.
