Education Reform Department Makes Appointment to Sixth Endowed Chair
The College of Education and Health Professions honored Robert Maranto, the holder of the Twenty-First Century Chair in Leadership, at an investiture ceremony Jan. 15 in the Graduate Education Building.
Maranto's endowed chair is the sixth and final one to be filled in the department of education reform created in 2005. A former professor of political science at Villanova University near Philadelphia, Maranto joined the University of Arkansas faculty in August.
The other chair holders:
- Robert Costrell, education accountability
- Jay Greene, education reform and department chair
- Gary Ritter, education policy
- Sandra Stotsky, teacher quality
- Patrick Wolf, school choice
The department will offer a Doctor of Philosophy degree in education policy beginning in the fall of 2009. Information on applying to the program can be found here.
