Members of the department of education reform gather around a computer screen May 13 to watch Patrick Wolf as he testified before a congressional committee. Several of them work with Wolf on an evaluation of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program.
Patrick J. Wolf, who holds the Twenty-First Century Chair in School Choice, was asked by the office of Sen. Joe Lieberman, Ind-Conn., to speak at a May 13 hearing of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which Lieberman chairs. The Senate committee hearing concerned reauthorization of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program, a federal voucher program that awards scholarships for students to attend private schools in the nation's capital.
Video from the hearing may be viewed on the committee's Web site at http://hsgac.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?Fuseaction=Hearings.Detail&HearingID=0358fc7c-ce9e-4008-b0d0-f0131a10dc43. Witness testimony may also be read online at that site.
