Wellness Program Aimed at College Employees

Posted on 8/11/2009

The Human Performance Laboratory and Intramural Recreational Sports department are sponsoring Wholesome H.A.W.G.s, a new wellness program for employees of the College of Education and Health Professions.

Cost for the eight-week program is $149 to include pre- and post-program blood lipid panels or $100 without the blood work. The first session is scheduled for Aug. 24 through Oct. 16, and the second session is scheduled for Oct. 19 through Dec. 18. A partial scholarship from IMRS is available for the first 20 people who register for the first session.

Following an orientation session in which the program will be described to participants, four information sessions will be scheduled regarding special topics such as basic nutrition, behavioral modification, adding activity, stress reduction and making lasting changes.

All participants will weigh in weekly and have a one-on-one nutritional consultation.

To register, employees of the College of Education and Health Professions may contact Julie Brown at 575-6762 or rzsharp1@uark.edu.

We want to hear from you. Please e-mail comments and feedback to Heidi Stambuck at stambuck@uark.edu.
