Vinson Carter Wins Teacher of Year Honor

Vinson Carter, left, is congratulated by Dick Burchett, program manger of technical and professional education in the division of Career and Technical Education at the Arkansas Department of Education.

Vinson Carter, a clinical instructor of technology education at the University of Arkansas, was named Teacher of the Year during the 2009 Arkansas Career and Technical Education conference.

Carter won the award from the Arkansas Association of Skilled and Technical Sciences division. The organization is made up of secondary and post-secondary teachers from around the state.

Carter earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Arkansas. He taught at Springdale High School before joining the faculty of the College of Education and Health Professions in 2008.
