Wholesome HAWGs Promote Better Health on Campus

Posted on 10/7/2009

Have you been thinking about making your health a priority in your life? Don't know where to start? Try Wholesome HAWGs! The Wholesome HAWGs wellness program is an 8-week program for faculty and staff of the University of Arkansas to promote weight loss and encourage behavioral modification.

The program includes pre- and post-health measures, including height, weight, estimated body composition, BMI, resting blood pressure, abdominal diameter, and a fasting blood lipid panel. Weekly weigh-ins, group meetings on important health-related topics, and an individual nutritional consultation will be important aspects of the 8-week program.

The next 8-week session will begin on Oct. 26 and will run through Dec. 18. The session will be limited to 20 participants. The program cost is $149.
