Professional Biography:
Sherrie Starkey graduated from Poteau High School in Poteau, Okla., and worked at several different jobs while attending high school. Following graduation, she went to work for the Poteau Chamber of Commerce where she did secretarial/bookkeeping duties. During the next several years, she moved a couple of times, once to McAlester where she lived with her grandparents and worked for a claims adjustor. Sherrie was there about three years but was offered a bookkeeping position with the City of Poteau, so she moved back home. In 1988, Sherrie moved to Arkansas and started working for the Altheimer Lab at the University of Arkansas. Then in 1997, she went to work for the Office of Admissions where she worked for seven years. Sherrie joined the Educational Leadership, Counseling & Foundations Department in the College of Education & Health Professions Sept. 13, 2004. She began serving as coordinator of personnel services for the college in May 2007.
