Office of Academic Affairs
Denise is responsible for clearing majors, minors and designating honors for student graduation. Her office coordinates all undergraduate student paperwork as it relates to successfully obtaining their degree such as program modification petitions, college "D" grade petitions, independent study applications, overload petitions, and appeals (both academic and financial). Verification responsibility on course selection each term for athletic and veteran certification, as well as for degree completion progress falls within her purview as well. Denise maintains student information for the College Honors Program and coordinates awarding honor/distinction designations for the College. She collaborates with the assistant dean for academic affairs on updating and/or changing the annual undergraduate college catalog copy. Denise assists college faculty and staff with interpretation of college policies relating to student issues and works with various university offices to resolve academic issues for students. Denise is the "link" between the College’s undergraduate student advising protocol and the Office for Academic Affairs. In addition, she currently serves on UA Staff Senate.
