The Graduate Certificate Program in Autism Spectrum Disorders will enable current teachers and education professionals to gain much needed information and skills that will translate into a positive impact on the education of students with autism spectrum disorders. Professionals will enroll in the proposed program to learn specific knowledge and skills that will greatly facilitate their ability to effectively identify and educate students with autism spectrum disorders.
The Online Human Resource and Workforce Development Education (HRWD) major is specifically designed for career adults seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree. The plan of study accelerates degree-completion by awarding technical credit for professional certifications and knowledge gained by experience. Online courses are offered on a traditional 15-week semester schedule. Undergraduates also obtain a solid academic base from which they can pursue a graduate degree. This major does not lead to a traditional licensure for teachers in Arkansas.
The Online M.Ed. degree in Adult and Lifelong Learning will prepare students for employment in programs that provide adult literacy and education, lifelong learning, community and nonprofit organizations, military education, postsecondary education, and continuing professional education. The program will focus on the development of students as emerging scholars and practitioners.
The Online M.Ed. in Educational Administration prepares students seeking administrative positions in elementary and secondary schools.
The Online Educational Technology Degree is an online master's program focusing on instructional design, distance education, training and development, teacher education and utilization of instructional technologies.
The Online M.Ed. in Workforce Development Education is a Web-based degree program. Students are taught to design and deliver education to adult learners in settings from colleges or classrooms in business and industry, to general education development and English as a second language programs in a local community.
The Online Master of Science degree in Nursing (M.S.N.) offers the Nurse Educator (NE) concentration that prepares graduates to assume teaching roles to prepare the next generation of nurses.
The Online Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Physical Education is an online program that can be completed in a two year period by taking six credit hours of classes per semester. The program allows practicing physical education professionals an opportunity to receive advanced training in their field along with a Master’s degree. The program is delivered entirely on the internet which allows students the flexibility to pursue the degree at a time and place that fits their schedule.
The Online Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Special Education coursework can be completed entirely online or can include courses from the on campus program. Coursework from both settings is accepted in the M.Ed. program. The M.Ed. in Special Education can have one of five foci. The first is a graduate program in special education for persons seeking advanced learning in special education without pursuing an additional license or a specialty certificate. The second is a graduate program in special education designed to meet the coursework requirements of an additional license program in Special Education Instructional Specialist (Grades K-12). The third focus is a graduate program in special education designed to meet the coursework requirements of a Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The fourth focus is in a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis which can lead to Board Certification in Behavior Analysis. The fifth focus is on Fayetteville campus program only and prepares teachers to meet the needs of students who are gifted and talented.
The Online Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for individuals who have a master’s degree and wish to extend their knowledge in the areas of research, curriculum and instruction as well as generate new knowledge in an individual selected area of study. Students may also pursue specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders or Applied Behavioral Analysis. The program is broad in scope offering coursework in multiple sub disciplines but maintains a practitioner focus with the overall goal of developing educational leaders who work in various educational settings. Individuals working towards this degree are provided a foundational base which can be also applied to further study at the Doctoral level or can merely be utilized to further the practitioner’s professional development as a discipline specific instructional leader.
The Online Ed.D. degree in Adult and Lifelong Learning (ADLLED) will prepare students for employment in programs that provide adult literacy and education, lifelong learning, community and nonprofit organizations, military education, postsecondary education, and continuing professional education.
The Online Ed.D. in Educational Administration (EDLEED) provides professional preparation for students pursuing careers as principals and other building administrators and supervisors in public and private schools; superintendents and other central administrative personnel; federal and state governmental agency officials; educational administration professoriate; and other education related professionals.
