Bart Cohen came to the University of Arkansas after earning a M.S. degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Memphis. During his 20+ years in the College of Education and Health Professions, he has served in a number of roles: Instructor, Desktop Publisher, Media Specialist, Webmaster, before assuming his present position of Director of Technology Services. Bart’s interest in computers began during electronics training in the Coast Guard in 1974. He later earned a dual B.A. degree in psychology and sociology from Memphis State University. During his graduate studies at the University of Memphis, Bart combined technology with educational psychology in the Instructional Design department and focused on Educational Technology. While in graduate school, Bart served as a self-employed microcomputer consultant.

As Director of Technology Services, Bart's staff maintains over 700 computers, printers and other computer related equipment. They also provides support services to over 200 faculty and staff located in nine locations and many remote staffers located throughout the state. He and his crew has an extensive knowledge of computer software and hardware. "We do everything from simple updates to writing custom apps; from installing memory to designing and maintaining the college’s virtual servers." He is constantly focused on the latest technology and getting the most out of the million plus dollars of equipment. As busy as he is, Bart always has time to answer your computer questions.
