Introduction to the PASE SciEdu Time Line Many thanks for taking the time to review our efforts in producing a time line of the history of science education in the United States. For more than a decade graduate students in the Project to Advance Science Education (PASE) at the University of Arkansas and the Rossier School of Education at USC have suggested key reports, events, scientific discoveries and related topics designed to provide a complete picture of the fascinating history of science education Now we are ready to share our work with you. Mary Coonfield, doctoral student in science education at the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas has done a masterful job in finding, scanning, linking and writing descriptions to produce the timeline. We have all benefited from her efforts and her extraordinary computer skills. The base program used to drive the timeline is SIMILIE developed at MIT. We appreciate the fact that our MIT colleagues have provided this remarkable program and have distributed it in "open source" format. We look forward to your suggestions for improvement (and the inevitable corrections that may be necessary). Most of all, we are looking for your thoughts about what additional key events we should include to make the timeline even more useful. Please send your comments for improvement and your suggestions for the inclusion of additional events and materials directly to itseusa@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
