Tom Bennett is the Associate Director for Organizational Development and School Support (OD/SSP) at the Arkansas Leadership Academy, a Research and Service Unit in the COEHP. In his role of Associate Director, Dr. Bennett manages the daily operations of OD/SSP, including providing support and supervision for the Academy's performance coaches; maintains positive client relations with superintendents, principals, and school leaders; secures professional service agreements with schools and school districts for their participation in the program; develops and delivers local, regional, state, and national presentations on OD/SSP; and manages the program budget.

He joined the University of Arkansas community in July of 2017 as a Performance Coach with the Academy, providing services in the field to Arkansas public school districts and schools participating in OD/SSP. As a Performance Coach, his primary focus was on assisting educational organizations with designing and implementing strategic action plans, including learning experiences from Academy institutes and programs. Prior to coming to the University of Arkansas, Dr. Bennett spent 16 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator with the Rivercrest School District. Education is his second career; Dr. Bennett practiced law in northeast Arkansas for 12 years before leaving the profession to become an educator in his home school district. He earned a Post-Master's Certificate in Leadership Studies from the University of Central Arkansas in 2016; an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2012; a M.S.E. in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2005; a J.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1988; and a B.A. in Communication from the University of Arkansas in 1985.
