Degree candidate recipients will be individually recognized during the ceremony. Candidates are escorted to the stage. Once at the platform, they wait for their names to be announced then they advance across the platform to accept the diploma cover in their left hand as they shake hands with a university official. After accepting the diploma cover the candidates will proceed across the stage and follow the line to the photography station. Once the candidate has taken a posed photo, they return to their seats until the ceremony concludes. Note — diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks following commencement, once graduation clearance has been completed by the dean's office.
During the ceremony, tassels are worn on the left side of the cap as degrees are conferred at the All University Commencement ceremony earlier in the day.
