Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation logoThe Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation advances equity and excellence in educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning. CAEP became the sole accrediting body for teacher preparation when the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education was consolidated with Teacher Education Accreditation Council in 2013.

The College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas is hosting an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on Nov. 10-12, 2019. Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the site team. Please note that the comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered, and should specify the party’s relationship to the provider (i.e. graduate, present or former faculty; employer of graduates). We invite you to submit written testimony to:

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education

Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education logoThe Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing. CCNE is officially recognized by the U.S. secretary of education as a national accreditation agency and serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. All of our degree programs in the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing — including Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice — are accredited by CCNE — B.S.N. through fall 2021 and M.S.N. and D.N.P. through Spring 2020.


Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education

Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education logoThe Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education is an associated advisory council of the Executive Board of the American Occupational Therapy Association. ACOTE is recognized as the accrediting agency for occupational therapy education. For information about the accreditation status of the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program of the University of Arkansas and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, please visit the department's accreditation page.


American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association logoThe Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association ensures the quality and continuous improvement of graduate programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Graduates of CAA-accredited programs are educated in a core set of skills and knowledge required for entry into independent professional practice. Our Master of Science in Communication Disorders program has been accredited by the CAA since 1982 with the next review cycle scheduled in 2022.


Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education

Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education logoThe mission of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education is defining, assessing and continually improving Athletic Training Education. It strives to assure accreditation excellence across the continuum of the field, enhancing clinical practice. Its values include accountability, transparency, integrity, excellence, leadership and collaboration. The commission is recognized by the Council for Higher Education. Our Master of Athletic Training degree program is accredited by CAATE.


Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs

Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs logoThe vision of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs is to provide leadership and to promote excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related educational programs. As an accrediting body, CACREP is committed to the development of standards and ensuring the continuing development and improvement of preparation programs. Our Master of Science in Counseling and Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision programs are accredited by CACREP through March 2021.
