
The College of Education and Health Professions has received over $100 million in research funding in the past five years. Our faculty are nationally known for their scholarly work and their research has practical implications for improving the everyday lives of Arkansans and beyond. COEHP has nine research labs and centers and faculty study everything from sport concussion to aging well to play therapy treatment options for children.

The lab, within the Counselor Education and Supervision degree program, both conducts research and provides service in mental health and school settings.
Visit the Adventure Therapy LabThe lab develops and evaluates instructional strategies and technologies for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities — such as autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome — with limited speech.

Visit the Cachexia Research LaboratoryThis unit of the Higher Education degree program conducts research and provides leadership on the study of the American college president. It provides direction through policy briefings, publications, workshops, grant writing and hosting speakers.
Visit the National Lab for the Study of the College PresidentStudents can learn in a state-of-the-art playroom as well as conduct research in the field. As a designated provider for the Association for Play Therapy, the office also provides workshops throughout the year for students and mental health professionals seeking certification.
Visit the Office of Play Therapy Research and TrainingThe unit, within the Exercise Science Research Center, works to improve, through education, research and outreach, the standard of care for athletes with sport-related concussion. Its emphases include gathering data from area high school and collegiate players as well as educational outreach.
